Crispy Cornbread

Cornbread has crispy edges, it’s soft on the inside, cheesy with a touch of sweet and so moist with pops of flavour from the sweetcorn!

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl combine all dry ingredients, except for the cheese and corn.
  2. In a small mixing bowl mix all the wet ingredients. 
  3. Combine wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and fold in the corn and cheese.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased loaf tin. Bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes at 200 degrees.
  5. Slice up and serve warm with butter or cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Golden Cloud Flour

  • 1 cup Maize Meal

  • 1/3 cup Sugar

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 3 ½ tsp Baking Powder

  • 1/3 cup FoodLand Butter, melted

  • 1 FoodLand Egg

  • 1 cup First Choice Milk

  • ½ cup FoodLand Gouda Cheese, grated

  • ½ cup Nature’s Garden Sweetcorn
