Uni corndog

Step into the new week with this heritage month inspired hotdog! This chakalaka topped hotdog is spicy, tangy and packed with flavour!
With all the ingredients available at our Econo Foods stores, either in-store or online

Directions

  1. Insert wooden skewers into the russians making sure that the length fits your pot.

  2. In a bowl combine the dry ingredients and in a separate bowl whisk the wet ingredients. Combine the wet and dry ingredients to form a batter.

  3. Pour the batter into a tall glass or jar and dip the Russian skewer into the glass to completely cover the russian and let excess batter drip off.

  4. Fry the corndogs in preheated oil, making sure to flip the corndogs regularly until golden brown.

  • Skewers

  • Eskort Smoked Russians

  • 1 Cup Flour
    3/4 Cup Maize Meal

  • 2 Tbsp Sugar

  • 2 Tsp Baking Powder

  • ½ Tsp Salt

  • ½ Tsp black pepper

  • 1 Egg

  • 1 Cup First Choice Milk

  • 2 Tbsp Oil
    Oil for deep frying
